Kidrobot SDCC Exclusives are Available for Preorder Now

Are you going to San Diego Comic Con?  If so, I'm very jealous, but also you should go right now and preorder all these Kidrobot exclusives.  Why stress yourself to the point of insanity on whether or not you'll be able to get one of these when you can ensure that they're waiting at the booth for just you?  The other great thing about preordering is that when you're at the convention it feels like you have way more money to spend because these will have already been paid for.  It's a great way to psychologically trick yourself into getting more awesome toys.  This method has been completely tested and proven by me as 100% effective.

Get your preorder on by visiting https://sdcc.kidrobot.com then sit back and relax knowing that awesomeness is awaiting you to merely show up (with a valid ID that matches your Comic Con name badge).  Gaze upon all that could be yours:

A Literal Pile of New Releases from Kidrobot

Kidrobot has gone all rogue on us by unleashing new releases under the cover of darkness.  I like to think I'm a man that knows a thing or too about toys and I didn't even know a new Labbit series was coming, yet alone the fact that they're already on sale.  The "Personal Happiness" Labbits aren't concerned with what society thinks they should be doing; they're following their own dreams like Laverne and Shirley (look it up young folk).  Unfortunately, my dreams mostly consist of things with which there are laws against, like punching people in the face, but thankfully these guys don't seem to have such a propensity to violence as I do.

It's a good thing this 3 inch version of Homer Buddha was released, because I need something to remind me to channel my anger in a more positive direction than someone else's jaw line.  I could glue him to my dashboard for serenity during New Jersey traffic, or leave him in the mail box to counter act those bills that seem to show up like clockwork every month.  Teach me your ways, Homer Buddha, as I fear enlightenment is slowly slipping from my grasp.

Oh, you know I love me some Dunnys.  As of last count I have 251 different 3 inch ones, which is not nearly all of them, but is still a whole heck of a lot.  These 3 are commemorating the very first Dunnys that were released 10-ish years ago.  They were not made in equal amounts, so they won't be easy to get all of unless you pull the trigger now.  Why live with regret, when you can live with toys?

All of these are available now from wherever you like to buy toys, and should be up on Kidrobot's website today.

The Simpsons x Lego

When I see new licensed sets from Lego I always get excited.  Not necessarily for the set itself, but for the other possible things that they should make.  This Simpsons house is cool and all, but I have a list of things I would love to build.  These are in no particular order:

Sons of Anarchy, Clash of the Titans (the original of course, not that dumb remake), Breaking Bad, He-Man, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, the Winchester Mystery House, Graceland, Coney Island, 1980's Time Square, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog rollin in a 6-4, The Dukes of Hazard, etc. etc.

So if anyone from Lego is reading this, that is my wish list.  For everyone else, The Simpsons house will release in February.

Kidrobot at New York Comic Con

Do you remember when Kidrobot caused such a commotion at last year's New York Comic Con with the release of that RSIN Dunny that they pretty much brought their entire side of the convention center to a halt?  I do cause I was there, knee deep in it man.  Those are the kinda risks I take to have awesome stories to tell you.  Actually, when the whole thing went down I was in line at the bathroom, but I was totally in the proximity of people that had been there and were talking about it and I listened in.  I really really had to pee.

Kidrobot will be there once again and they are bringing two new releases along with a couple that are gonna look mighty familiar to folks.  The two new ones are the black version of Day of the Dead Homer and a gold Ryu figure from their Street Fighter Series.

And here are the other two.  They are the exclusives that they had with them in San Diego.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm.  I bought both retailer versions of these guys already, so I don't feel the need to buy these, but some people are kinda mad about it.  I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed that there won't be another 3 inch release like last year that caused so much fuss.  I know they're focusing a lot of energy on the Dunny Evolved series which comes out the day the convention starts, but it's always nice to have something that's special and just for the people that were able to go.  I do love both of these designs, and I own the Labbit (in a different color scheme) and the Dunny (the elephant version) but that being said their lack of freshness doesn't make me clamor to get them.  Certainly if I had never seen them before I would have to own them both, but I'm not feeling that sense of urgency.  Completists will be excited, but I have to stretch my cash as far as possible these days, so I don't really buy the different colorways of the same figure anymore.  Maybe this is more of a statement about where my collecting habits have shifted than the decision of a company to utilize the same figures (on their two most popular platforms) as exclusives at two conventions.  I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts.

They will have a butt ton of signings though that will make even the most jaded collector happy.  Check out the list below:

New Releases Tomorrow from Kidrobot

Not all of us are fortunate enough today to be among those attending San Diego Comic Con.  Some of us are geographically challenged, while so of us have bills to pay.  Whatever the reason, I know it sucks to hear about all the cool stuff that's releasing that you can't be there to snag.  I'm sitting at home, watching Jerry Springer and weeping with the rest of you.

Kidrobot has some cool releases for this year's convention and they've been nice enough to ensure that we can take advantage of at least a few of them.  Like their debut collaboration with Marvel, this Venom and Wolverine Labbit.  Here's why these guys are cool to me:  for one, I love the Labbit.  You could make a My Little Pony Labbit and I'd still be somewhat excited about it.  And secondly:  it's Marvel!  Rather than make separate figures they took the iconic characters and put them on an established platform.  It's a great way to blend the two worlds and hopefully introduce new people into the world of vinyl toy collecting.  Which is desperately needed if the toy community is gonna grow.   These are $49.99 each and release tomorrow, July 18th.

You can also pick up these new 6 inch figures of Zombie Bart and Zoidberg.  Not necessarily my thing, but hey, I can't fall in love with every chunk of plastic I meet.  I'm no toy slut.
