Valentine's Day is the toughest holiday to shop for. Basically, what you buy your significant other is a reflection on just how much you care about them, or something. If you're lucky enough to be in love with someone that has a sense of humor, or you're looking to end a relationship with someone who doesn't, then do I have the perfect gift for you. Giantmicrobes has created a special egg and sperm plush set just in time for the high romance of the holidays. Each cell contains a magnet that ensures they'll be attached at the hip (do eggs have hips?) forever. They're only $19.95 and available right now! Imagine trying to explain to your kids why they can't play with these. Oh the fun you'll have!

Giantmicrobes for Valentine's Day

Living Dead Dolls Series 23
Children are kinda creepy little beings. There I said it. You knew you were thinking it. Now that we're past that the people behind Living Dead Dolls have always felt that the little buggers could be even scarier than they are in the check out lane at the grocery store. Presenting Series 23 of the popular little freaks. Look at them, all having tea on someone's coffin. I think real kids would do this, so that part isn't too alarming. But look at their faces!!! The one in the middle with the black dress is kinda freaking me out, probably due to her lack of eyeballs. She should form a support group with the girl in pink on the right, who obviously didn't listen to her well meaning parents and now has a horrible disfigurement to show for it. I think that's what happens when you text at the dinner table after being told not to.

New Releases Tomorrow from Super7
Sure I posted a little something about these already, but tomorrow you'll actually be able to purchase them and I didn't want you to forget. I forget most things and unless I write myself a note or there is a horrible smell involved, chances are that whatever I should have remembered will slip into oblivion.
The Abominable Leroy C. and the Hues of Blues DokuDuo are decked out in the perfect colors for winter and at only $35 each, you can afford to add them both to your collection. They go on sale tomorrow at noon Pacific time on the Super7 website.
Teasers from Maqet
Maqet posted these photos on their Facebook page with the caption "no comment". I would bet money the image above is for a new Emily the Strange toy, as she's sporting her signature bangs and rocking out on an SG style guitar, which is something I've seen with her before.
This one is a design by Frank Kozik that we had previously expected to see released in time for last Halloween. Will both of these figures see the light of day in 2012? It certainly looks that way.

Mimomicros Want To Store Your Stuff
Mimoco makes Mimobots, those cute little USB drives that have turned into amazing art platform and collectable. Now they introduce Mimomicro, a new USB flash drive/microSD memory card reader. What really sets these apart from their predecessors (in the opinion of a collector) is the fact that rather than conforming to one specific shape, each one of these guys is sculpted based on the character. I'm eyeing up that Darth Vader one to add to my growing collection based around the Sith Lord. But Batman is pretty cool too. And what better way to hide all those files you don't want the government finding in case you get incarcerated. But they don't come out until March, so try to resist your criminal urges until then.
Mini Qee from MCA x Toy2r
Check out this teaser image of an upcoming Mini Qee from MCA and Toy2R. According to the info they sent me, they head and tail will be sculpted so the final product might not be too far from what you see, just in Qee form. MCA made some killer stuff way back when I first started collecting. In fact, his toys where some of the first I was ever able to get, thanks in part to Tower Records closing. I cleaned them out during liquidation and wish I had been able to get more. I'm glad to see he's back with another figure and one that looks to be pretty wild at that.

February Releases From NECA
NECA makes some pretty cool toys at a ridiculously fast pace. Every time I go to the store they have new stuff out that I haven't seen before and there's always a tons of different things. Sometimes I think I've forgotten how to use the internet to see what's new, or that I have some massive head injury that I don't remember that causes me to lose track of toys that are coming out. If the latter is the case, I must be having a symptom free day because I found out about these new releases before seeing them in Toys R Us. First up is the Deadite Ash from Evil Dead 2. Shockingly enough they are remaking the first one, which is a pretty typical Hollywood thing to do. Here is my recreation of how that meeting went down.
Executive #1: What older movies do people love that we haven't remade and completely ruined yet?
Executive #2: Well, we screwed up Clash of the Titans already, how about Evil Dead?
Executive #1: Brilliant!
What's most shocking to me is that Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are both on board with this remake. And the role of Ash will actually be played by a girl! I don't know why this is happening, it kinda has the whole "tinkering with Star Wars" vibe that has irritated me for years. Stephen King doesn't rewrite his books, so people should stop changing their films.
You will also be able to pick up figures from Rocky next month. Both Rocky and Apollo will come in regular and "just got my teeth knocked down my throat" versions. My only Rocky related story is that I live fairly close to Philadelphia and am huge Flyers fan. After every game at the exit to the parking lot there is a man that plays the Rocky theme on his trumpet over and over again. It doesn't matter whether we won or lost or whether its below freezing and snowing, he is always there and always playing that song. It's kinda weird, but it's also something that is a testament to just how unique the city is and just how important that movie is to it. It's also a testament to the fact that he probably only knows that one song.
