G.I. Joe Retaliation Movie Figures

Here is a look at the new G.I. Joe Retaliation figures!  The movie comes out this summer and like the last one it will probably suck.  Oh, The Rock is in this one?  Forget all that I just said, it will ABSOLUTELY suck.  The lone positive thing about Hollywood ruining something that was sacred during my childhood is that there will at least be toys.  And these toys look pretty cool.  I especially love that Cobra Commander doesn't look like he escaped a burn ward wearing a fish bowl on his head.  They gave him back his metal mask, but updated it a bit which I really don't mind.  The Cobra Trooper has a cool World War 2 Germany thing going on, which is also a nice design.  The G.I. Joe Trooper however looks a little too much like Master Chief from Halo.

Another cool thing I'm excited about is the new Zartan figure.  Hopefully he changes color in the sunlight just like he used to.  I remember getting the original one, ripping him out of the package as soon as we got to the car, and placing him to bake on the dashboard.  At the time it was one of the coolest things a toy had ever done so I hope they preserved that for the new generation to experience.  Even though I'm sure they'd only be impressed if he could download music or update their Facebook for them.

Angry Birds Playsets from K'nex

The plush Angry Birds have been out for some time and we've all delighted in throwing them at each other whenever we find them in a store.  Admit it, you've done it once or twice.  The people at K'nex have answered your call for avian violence by creating the Angry Birds building set.  These will be out in time for Christmas this year, so plan accordingly if you want to kick the crap out of some green piggies in real life.

Disney x NY Giants Super Bowl Vinylmation

The Giants have again beaten the Patriots in the Super Bowl, and what better way for fans to commemorate the win than with a toy!  This Disney Vinylmation figure is 3" tall and available to order right now.  They are backordered, but that's most likely because they didn't know which logo to put on the toys until the game was over.  Snag yours now for $18.95 by clicking here.

TADO x Creo Design Funghi Review

Usually it's not a good thing when someone tries to send you mushrooms from a foreign country, but this is one of those rare exceptions where it doesn't land you in court.  Check out what I got in the mail last week!  It's a Funghi, designed by TADO and manufactured by Creo Design.  There are 36 different color combinations of this figure which make for a maddening (in a good way) array of possibilities.  I got this awesome guy that looks like he's in mid nap, but the eyes on the one you get could be different as well.

I liked this design when I saw it online, but I like him even more in person.  The attention to detail is great and the paint is extremely clean.  Each figure is stamped on the bottom of the foot with what number you got out of 60 available pieces, which is a great bonus you will only find in small runs like this.  If you've been on the fence about getting one now is definitely the time to order, because with only 60 of them in the world, these will be pretty hard to find in years to come.   Get yours right now by going here: http://creodesign.storenvy.com/.

Just chillin.

Just chillin as well, but from a more "artistic" angle.

Each box comes hand signed and numbered by TADO!

KidNeutron and KidRoyale from Kidrobot

Kidrobot is releasing two very minimal versions of its world famous mascot on February 23rd.  One comes with a ray gun and the other comes with a can of spray paint.  I would have loved to have seen a bit more artistic interpretation in these like we have in the past, but my wallet is thankful every time I don't go crazy over a new toy.  While these are not something I will personally be adding to my collection, they will be a great platform for all of the customizers out there.  Each one will be $29.95 and a lot were made so getting one should be no problem.

Maqet x Uamou

Maqet is not playing around.  Not only do they have the coolest technology in existence to make toys, but they are getting some killer artists on board to design them.  The latest addition to their growing roster is Uamou!  Many collectors will recognize the figure on the right as it has seen many incarnations over the years.  Now that it's entered to world of 3D printing, the possibilities are truly endless for customization.  Hey, it's already got two horns, why not make a Toy Viking one?  I'm getting worse at being subtle with my hints.

Custom Toy of the Week: Jon-Paul Kaiser

For my inaugural "Custom Toy of the Week" post, I had to feature the work of the amazingly talented and truly nice guy, Jon-Paul Kaiser.  He's already made production toys for Toy2r and Kidrobot and I expect a lot more of his work to be passing through those factories in China and into our hands.   This guy can do more with the color black than most artists can do with a truck load of paint.  Check out his latest custom, a Buddha Mini Munny.

Now, I couldn't pick just one to feature, so I also decided to show you this amazing Boba Fett Teddy Trooper.  I'd love to own an entire line of Star Wars toys that looked like this.  If George Lucas is reading this (which come on, of course he is) then these toys need to happen.  Check out Mr. Kaiser's website at http://jonpaulkaiser.blog.co.uk/ for more of his amazing toys.
