Custom Toy Event of the Week: Bellicosity

I'm switching up the Custom Toy of the Week feature up a bit this Friday to tell you about an amazing custom toy show.  Why you ask?  Cause I want to sucka!

Nathan Hamill is pleased to present to you Bellicosity, taking place tonight at Toy Art Gallery In Los Angeles.  All of the artists involved took Nathan's Bellicose Bunny toy and added their own spin on it turning in some amazing, and disturbing (thank you Luke Chueh for things I cannot unsee) customs.  See toys from Jon-Paul Kaiser, Rsin, Julie West, Touma and tons more.   If you live in the Los Angeles area you should go cause what else are you doing tonight?  Stalking George Clooney?  Stalking Angelina Jolie?  Stalking Betty White?  I've never been to L.A. but I've always assumed that people do a lot of stalking to pass the time.

Patricio Oliver Wants You to Pick His Next Toy Design

Recently, a lot of people have been interested in toy collector's opinions.  Most of the time I am more than willing to give mine whether it is solicited or not, so it's nice for a change to actually be asked.  Patricio Oliver and Unbox Industries want you to decide what the next figure they produce will be.  You have the choices pictured above and the figure with the most votes will join the crazy world of The Tenebrae.  You only have until March 28th to let your voice be heard and as an added incentive, one person will be randomly chosen to win one of the figures once its made.  It's better than voting for the president because you won't feel dumb afterwards when he screws the whole country up (not that that happens in EVERY election) plus you never win anything from politicians but higher taxes.  Go here and cast your vote now:  http://www.facebook.com/TheTenebrae

Kidrobot's MunnyWorld is Getting Taller

I don't fancy myself a toy customizer.  I've made a few (even sold one) but I am in no way on the same level as most of the sick creations you see floating around the internet.  Now those artists will have some new platforms to work on as Kidrobot has announced it is making all of their hugely popular Munnyworld characters into 7 inch versions.  They'll be as tall as the original Munny and have a lot more surface area for people to utilize.  These larger figures will be available starting April 12th for $19.95 each and will come with mystery accessories.

Aurora Mixed Glow Greasebat by Jeffrey Lamm x Monster Worship

With all the focus on his new Spike Wad figure you may have thought Jeffrey Lamm had forgotten all about the mighty Greasebat.  But you would have been wrong because how else is there a new one coming out?  This is the Aurora Mixed Glow edition, based on the old Aurora model kits that had interchangeable parts that lit up in the dark.  You can get yourself this eco friendly night light for $75 tomorrow,  March 23rd from the Monster Worship store.

Walking Dead Minimates Available for Preorder

Hopefully by now you've seen the season finale of The Walking Dead.  If you haven't don't worry, I promise I won't ruin the surprise for you.  But now since you're thinking about zombies it would be the perfect time to preorder your set of Walking Dead Minimates.  You can either get Rick with a zombie, Dale with a zombie, or two zombies together.  Or just get them all and stop being a baby about it.  I'm kinda shocked that Dale was included in the first wave of figures, as we all know Daryl is the best character on the show.  I think they should do a spinoff series called Daryl Dixon: Biggest Bad Ass of the Zombie Apocalypse.  It will be like the Dukes of Hazard meets Mad Max, with maybe a touch of the Cosby Show.  You know, for the kids.

Ajee in Porcelain from K. Olin Tribu

I raved a ton about this figure when it was originally released in vinyl late last year.  It's called Kosplay and it is the design of french artist Ajee.   And just when you thought it couldn't get any better the folks at K. Olin Tribu have decided to make a porcelain edition.  Here are a bunch of pics of what it will look like.  No idea on price or release date yet, but if you want one I would save my money because it won't be cheap, but it will be worth it.

Glossy Mega Munnys from Kidrobot

I am loving these. I know the Munny platform is generally meant to be customized but I don't think I could bring myself to change these one bit. The glossy finish makes enough of a statement as it is, and as big as they are there is no way they wouldn't be the center of any room or collection. I think they'd also make a pretty killer dry erase board. Imagine writing down your grocery list or a maybe us it next to the phone to take messages on for the folks you live with.

Now the important stuff. These will be available April 12th for $250. From the folks at Kidrobot. Yeah, they're not cheap, but they're stylish and people will be impressed with your good taste. How many times will that realistically happen in your lifetime?
