If this doesn't make you excited for the return of Batman this summer, you should a.) hopefully have health insurance and b.) use it to check yourself into the hospital cause you might be clinically dead. This ARTFX statue from The Dark Knight Rises is made by the folks at Kotobukiya, which loosely translates to "we make toys that you would sell your first born to obtain". This thing is huge too, standing at 15 inches tall. That's a lot of Batman so you're probably gonna have to get rid of your Gone With the Wind collectible plates to make room. I know it's gonna be tough, but you do have some time to man up, since this figure doesn't come out until November.

Kotobukiya Batman The Dark Knight Rises ARTFX Statue

Futurama x Kidrobot Wooden Bender
People have been clamoring for Kidrobot to make more Futurama toys and now they can all sleep tonight with this reveal of Wooden Bender. His little woodpecker buddy is out of luck, cause this angry robot bro is actually made of vinyl, but that hasn't stopped the little guy from rooting around for bugs. On June 7th you can add some futuristic bad attitude to your shelves for only $50. Oh, and he's 6 inches tall, so he's a lot bigger then the Futurama figures of yore.

The Deep Things from Skinner
Oh, snap. Skinner is back at it with these minions of Cthulhu called The Deep Ones. He's been paying tribute to the great H.P. Lovecraft for a few releases thus far, but this is my absolute favorite one yet. Obviously modeled after the creatures that live in the NYC subway tunnels (you can't tell me they're not lurking around, feeding on rats and medical waste) each figure stand 6 inches tall and will cost ya $100. They go on sale Monday, May 21st at noon right here: http://www.storenvy.com/products/361506-the-deep-things.

Custom Toy of the Week: Peter Kato
Normally when I post about a custom toy it usually involves someone making an enhancement to something that already exists, so this week I thought I'd mix it up a bit and focus on an artist who makes everything from scratch. These are the newest releases from Peter Kato, entitled The Goldies. These little resin figures are all handmade and at only $10 each, are an easily affordable edition to your collection. Help support independent toy makers by picking up a few of these right now at http://peterkatoshop.com/.
MAD x Pobber Toys Dr. Morkenstein Pajama Edition
To truly understand the mind of an evil genius, it is important to see them in their bed clothes. Ok, so maybe that's not entirely true, but it does give insight into whether they are straddling that line that separates crazy and brilliant. Check out MAD's Dr. Morkenstein in his younger days, ready for bed and dreams of world domination. This guy was made by the fine folks at Pobber Toys and will be going on sale next week. There will only be 150 pieces made of the good doctor doing his best Hugh Hefner impersonation, and they will be $65 each. Oh, and his pj's come complete with a bum flap for doing his evil business. I for one have never required the use of a trap door in my pants, nor do I fully grasp the benefits of it, but they are fun to laugh about.
Maxx Edition Spikewad at Kapow! Comic Convention
For all of you folks lucky enough to live in London and even luckier to go to the Kapow! Comic Convention....well....you're lucky. Mostly because London is a pretty cool place and comic conventions are like nerd Valhalla, but also because of this MAXX Edition Spikewad from Jeffrey Lamm and Unbox Industries. Painted to look like the trippy cartoon that used to air on MTV (back in the day before all they cared about was teen pregnancy and morons at the beach) this guy is sure to be limited, so if you're going you better hunt him down ASAP.

Batman Arkham City Series 3 Figures
Arkham City just continues to rake in the money. I got the game and got all the cool download content. Now they have the Harley Quinn expansion that I have to buy. And did I even mention all the other cool stuff, like action figures? This is the third series of toys from the game and now just about every character has been transformed from pixels to plastic.
Of course they have to make another Batman figure, but you can also add The Penguin, Azrael, Ra's Al Ghul, and two different clown henchmen to your ever growing collection. These will be available September 19th, so now you have something to make you happy after the Summer ends. I'm just looking out for ya.
