McFarlane Toys Hines Ward from The Dark Knight Rises

Ok, I haven't been into sports figures since I was a wee little Viking who had a love of Starting Lineups. I still have every one of them that I ever owned and while they used to be worth quite a bit, they are now easily found at just about any Goodwill or flea market. If I were ever going to buy a sports figure again this would have to be it.

McFarlane Toys has created this figure of Hines Ward from his appearance in The Dark Knight Rises. He plays for the Gotham Rogues football team which has been featured prominently in the early trailers for the film. Available this October, it will retail for $12.99.

Win A Rare Compound Hulk Figure to Celebrate New York Comic Con

Tickets are on sale right now for this years New York Comic Con  and I wanted to do a little something because I am sooooooooooo looking forward to it.  At last year's convention Hasbro had an exclusive red/green compound Hulk figure available and I just so happen to have saved one since then.  It's been sitting in my office, unopened, begging to be given away, so let's do a contest.  Follow me @TheToyViking on Twitter and tweet to me "Hulk Smash".  Don't have Twitter?  Then follow me on Facebook and post on my wall the same phrase.  One lucky winner will get this uber rare figure sent to them from me.  You'll probably get some cat hair in the box as well because our little ones are shedding like crazy.  But hey, bonus for you right?  Don't forget to go to www.newyorkcomiccon.com right now and get your tickets to this show.

I'll announce the winner next Friday so that way everyone has plenty of time to enter.

Custom Toys of the Week: Kidrobot Munnyworld Winners

Kidrobot has just announced the winners of its annual Munnyworld Custom Contest and there are some amazing pieces in this year's list of winners.  I'm only featuring two of them because otherwise I would be here all day typing and probably get fired for not going to work.

The figure above was created by KyoungWhan Oh from Suwon-City, South Korea and may look like a bunch of simple lines painted on the figure but is in fact much more complex than that.  The figure was sliced into sections with some of them being painted and others being replaced by clear pieces that were identical to the originals.  That is a sick amount of precision work and is one of the most original concepts I have ever seen.  Needless to say, this piece was voted "Best in Show".

This piece is the work of artist Bjornik and was voted "Best Munny".  I love his work and have featured it before so I was glad to see this among the winners.

There are a ton of other custom toys to be seen by going to http://blog.kidrobot.com/the-new-champions-of-munnyworld/.

New Thundercraps from Kuso Vinyl

Omg I love these!!!! These are The Thundercraps and they are better than anything you've ever seen before. Yes, Kuso Vinyl has released some of these before, but I never fail to get excited each time I see a new one. And if you're lucky enough to be attending the Anime Expo in Los Angeles in a few weeks, you can get a killer box set of them. Each box contains 3 figures and 1 out of every 3 boxes will contain the special "Goldigger" Cheatarah figure instead of the basic one. And check out the box they come in cause it looks like the future of the Thundercraps is filled with many more designs to come. I want them all in case you were wondering.

Play Imaginative Presents a Plethora of Plastic

You like what I did with the title of this post, I know ya do. You know what I like? I like all the new toys that Play Imaginative has coming out this summer. First up is this series of Happy Tree Friends Trexis. I haven't heard from this murderous creatures in quite awhile, but if you look at the backs of the figures you quickly remember how demented they are. If you've never seen this cartoon before you should look it up cause it will make you smile. Or puke.

All of these toys were made by Devilrobots and do not suck. There's an entire series of Color Pop To-Fu figures, a To-Fu Trexi, and my absolute favorite, Evirob!! I've wanted one of these guys for a long time and now there will be 3 different ones I can get. I want them all cause they kinda look like little Vikings, and in case you haven't noticed that's kinda my thing. Take my money now!

Two Toned Metal Fushion Figures from Peter Kato

Peter Kato is a machine. Maybe not a literal machine, but since I've never met him in person I can't say that for sure. What I do know is that he churns out toys faster than anyone I've ever known and with that being said I present to you his latest creations. This series is known as " Two Toned Metal Fushion" and the blended colors in the resin is really cool. You know you want these and you can get them Thursday, June 14th at http://peterkatoshop.com/.

New Stuff from Mimobot

Na na na na na na na na na na na na....wait, how many "na's" did I need cause I totally lost count. Typing the Batman theme is a lot harder than singing it in case you were wondering. But storing all your important songs and documents and scandalous pictures that will prevent you from ever being a politician has never been easier or more stylish.

Mimobot always makes the coolest flash drives around now they are revealing a bunch of new designs leading up to San Diego Comic Con. The Bane flash drive is an exclusive for the convention, but Batman, Superman, and the Flash are available for everyone to purchase. There are a plethora of other reveals every Tuesday at midnight on their website, so you better have a lot of files that need storing. And each one comes pre loaded with neat stuff for your computer. And a pony. Ok, maybe not a pony, but I'm sure they'd get you one if you asked nicely. Ok, probably not.
