Game of Thrones Pop! Vinyl from Funko

HOLY CRAP!  How often do I say that about something?  Ok, maybe a few times here and there, but I rarely put it in all caps.  These Game of Thrones Pop! Vinyls from Funko were a nice surprise to see in my Facebook feed and are a must-own for anybody vaguely interested in the hit book and tv series.  These guys will be available in November this year, and are epically adorable.

How does every other character have these crazy names and this guy is just Ned Stark?  He sounds like he may enjoy Nascar, drinking whatever beer happens to be on sale, and cooking road kill.  Not that I don't have relatives that enjoy those same activities, but still.

Creo Design Presents: Lofing

I've been reading Tom Wolfe's The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test about Ken Kesey and the whole LSD thing from the 1960s.  The book is an interesting insight to a time period I've always found fascinating but never really dug too deeply in.  The idea of a group of people living together in the woods and painting things in day glow colors while whacked out of their minds and waxing philosophical is a foreign concept to me.  If that were to go on today I would imagine the government would waste little time in obtaining search warrants and putting their shenanigans to rest.  Other than the drug thing it seems like an ideal way of life, just hanging out, creating weird things, and taking part in the vast beauty of nature.

I think this guy would fit right in with Mr. Kesey and his band of Merry Pranksters.  This is Lofing, a big old hunk of vinyl complete with his little mushroom sidekick.  Don't worry Lofing, I'm not a cop, your mushroom friend is safe.  Creo Design is producing this guy and he should be available soon to bring a bit of happiness to your collection.

Man E Toys M.U.S.C.L.E Inspired Exclusives

I'm digging all the M.U.S.C.L.E. - like figures people are coming up with. I dug the originals when I was younger and seeing these makes me a bit sad that I don't still have them. I can't even tell you what I did with them, but I would bet moving all the time didn't help matters. So much cool stuff was just lost between packing and unpacking and loading up trucks and what have you. I'm gonna have to see my therapist twice this week I think cause I'm getting all nostalgic.

But what is awesome is that I could totally rebuild my collection with awesome new figures that awesome new people are making. All of the little guys you see here were made by Eric Nilla and Tyler of Nama-Niku and are available right now in these exclusive colors from Man-E-Toys. Check 'em out, then go and order some and have epic wrasslin matches.

This guy is my favorite and was designed based on the popular Splatterhouse game that was originally available on the Turbo Grafix 16. Who's gonna fight a guy with a meat cleaver that's bigger than he is? He wins his matches by default every time.

Hot Toys Catwoman 1/6th Scale Figure

My Christmas list is now complete and this is the only thing I want. Does that make me creepy? Who cares, just look at this figure. This is the Hot Toys 1/6th scale Catwoman figure. As you can see it is based off of Anne Hathaway's portrayal of the iconic character in The Dark Knight Rises. As you can also see, I have a bit of a crush on Anne Hathaway. And who doesn't? Weirdos probably, and other people you wouldn't let babysit your kids cause their judgement is obviously skewed.

Good Lord, just look at the amount of detail they were able to capture. If you didn't know it was a toy you might be tricked into thinking it was a promo shot from the movie. Do you think she got to keep the costume after the movie was over? Naughty, naughty minx.

I have no idea when this comes out or what it will cost cause honestly, I'm not an investigative journalist. If they don't make this info readily available I'm not gonna go around and harass folks about it. I'm a bit lazy in that regards, plus there's a lot of good television I could be watching instead. Cable isn't cheap ya know.

Custom Toy of the Week: Matt Anderson

When I was a wee little lad we had a neighbor who had every possible GI Joe playlet that was every made. They were moving to Texas, and I came home one day to find his entire collection sitting in my kitchen. Evidently they were unable to take it with them and since he was older and really didn't play with it anymore he wanted me to have it all. Needless to say, I was floored. I was even more shocked when I realized the giant aircraft carrier was set up in the dining room. That thing was so massive that I could lay down on it and still have room to move. What does this have to do with the owl you see pictured? That owl my friends, will be the GI Joe aircraft carrier of your collection.

This is the Night Terror and is the creation of Matt Anderson. This defies the boundaries of merely being a toy and is truly a work of art. And it's massive. It stands 16 inches tall and has a wing span of 2 feet!! 10 lucky people will be able to preorder these right now for only $200 plus shipping ( the regular price will be $300 after this deal, which is still a bargain). These are all hand made and stunning. This is something you will regret not buying if you pass it up, so don't miss out. If you're going to New York Comic Con you'll be able to see this piece in person. Just try not to drool too much on it.

The Qee Zilla Kid from MCA x Toy2r

I really like the direction MCA and Toy2r took with this Mini Qee. It is faithfully adapted from the drawings into 3D form and that gives it a ton of character. Even the advertising shot that is posted above is great and brings to mind a time when life was a lot easier and dictated more by imagination than responsibility. It's always nice when a toy can make you smile.

I'm not sure when this is coming out, but it should be soon now that we've seen the final product.

Maqet x Emily the Strange Coming Soon?

Maqet has posted up more teaser images of their forthcoming collaboration featuring Emily the Strange. Based on the above photo, you will be able to customize everyone's favorite misanthrope any way you like. I think it would be hilarious to dress her up in bright pinks and yellows and really give her something to frown about. Our you could dress her up like that girl from the Olympics, McKayla Maroney, since she is already striking that "unimpressed" pose.

When will these be available? Who knows, nobody tells me anything, but when I find out I'll let you know.
