Custom Toy Show at Sub-Urban Vinyl Tonight!
Are you in the North Jersey/New York area? Are you looking for something to do tonight? You should go to Sub-Urban Vinyl and see their custom toy show. There's tons of artists with tons of work and tons of things you can buy. Why drink yourself into a stupor on a Saturday night when you can look at art instead? Wait, there's a wine tasting there as well:
Super Series Sunday from Tenacious Toys Featuring Teru Fujita
And now for something completely different. Tenacious Toys is continuing their Super Series Sunday releases tomorrow with this custom Android series from Teru Fujita. He chopped this sucker up, put a lot of cool electronic parts inside of him, and made it so that he lifts off his own head to reveal a light up face underneath! It all works by pressing a spring-loaded button on his back. There's a little video at the bottom of this guy in action if you're curious. These will go on sale tomorrow for $200 each and only 8 of them were created and will never be made again. And don't worry, you can easily change the battery after you've played with it too much.

Custom YHWH Show at Toy Art Gallery
I like Mark Ryden, I really do, but his YHWH toy doesn't do it for me. It's a weird squiggly totem pole with eyes and bunny ears and I wouldn't know what to do with it if someone gave me one. Actually, I would probably hit them with it. So it is intriguing to me that someone would have gathered a bunch of them up, shipped them around the world, and let different artists rework the figure. The results of some of those endeavors have been making the rounds online and you can see them in person tomorrow night at Toy Art Gallery in Los Angeles. It is probably one of the strangest objects anyone has ever used as the basis for a custom show, so the results should be nothing if not interesting.
Pirate Chaos Bunny from Joe Ledbetter x The Loyal Subjects
This may be the best chance you have to score one of the Chaos Bunnies from Joe Ledbetter and The Loyal Subjects. They realize that rabbits with jobs = massive popularity, so they made 700 of these pirate versions. And being a pirate is a pretty decent career choice. Sure you will most likely die from scurvy, but you'll have a great time beforehand commandeering ships and pillaging fishing villages along the coast. It beats working at Starbucks.
Get one of these suckers today at noon Pacific time from https://www.theloyalsubjects.com/.

New Pop! Vinyl Figures from Funko
I have a doctors appointment later today (standard gerbil removal, nothing to worry about) and if I see anything that resembles this guy when I get there I'm running the other way. Clown doctors are probably the scariest thing in the world. Have you ever seen a movie with a guy that has access to face paint and sharp objects that ends well? And he looks like he is trying to hug me. I am not okay with that.
Dr. Blake Downs from Children's Hospital is the latest dude to be immortalized as a Pop! Vinyl figure from Funko. He will be released May 23rd along with this Red Hulk dude:
Why is Hulk red? I dunno, I think he hates the regular green one or something. Or he' got a thing bursting through walls with a pitcher of Kool-Aid.
Smoke + Yellow Resin Raaar! Exclusive from DeKorner x Dynamite Rex
No matter how many times I feature these guys I am always impressed by how cool they look. I can't imagine it is easy to make a resin Raaar! figure, and it probably would have driven me mad trying to do so. I have a general idea of how they get that nice shiny coating of resin on that skeleton, but I probably would have just given up and watched tv before I perfected the process. Luckily for you, I don't make these guys. Dynamite Rex does and they made this one exclusively for Dekorner. 50 of them will be available tomorrow (May 10th) at 10am Pacific time for $65 each. You can get one for yourself and be marveled by the craftsmanship by going to http://www.dekornerstore.com/.

Custom Toys of the Week: Drone Series Munnys from The Given
My brother in law is gonna be pretty mad that he didn't think of this first. This Drone Series of Munnys from The Given combines vinyl toys with military models to create something pretty crazy. Let's just hope our government doesn't get any weird ideas about building these for real and dropping them on some unsuspecting nation. Or would they be the coolest weapons of modern warfare you've we've ever seen. Hmmmmmmmm. I know I wouldn't mind having a few to wreak havoc on some irritating people I know.
While you can't buy these with military grade weaponry (yet) you can buy these custom toys right this instant. Just go to http://thegiven.co.za/shop/ and one or all of these could be in route to your house. Hide your secret weapons cache first though, just in case.
