Custom Sprogs and Robobees from Lunabee

We're going all out cute today.  I can't be dark and brooding all the time like I was as a teenager.  I don't have time to lock myself in my room, listen to Marilyn Manson records, and think about how great it will be when I blow this hick town and become a guitar god.  Now I listen to Marilyn Manson while driving in the car to get Vitamin Water from Target and to pay my cable bill.  So it's cool now if I wear something other than black and let a little bit of cuteness into my life.

Lunabee painted these figures that were made by her man friend Cris Rose and has turned them from rusty robots into patrons of summer.  They will be on sale today at 7pm London time (that sounds so fancy) at http://lunabee.bigcartel.com/.

More Wizard of Oz Pop! Vinyl from Funko

Do you want to know the lengths I go to in order to make this site more interesting than any other toy site on the internet?  I just watched The Wizard of Oz with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon to see if they really matched up.  Sure, I could have just paraphrased a press release, but that's not what I'm about.  I dig deeper, I relate the toys to real life, to your life.  And no, I didn't really think it matched up that well.  I also think you need a certain level of inebriation to allow the music and film to meld together into a cohesive experience.  And while I will not be tripping the light fantastic (I have a tub to caulk today) I do present you with these figures from the film.

Funko is releasing these additional figures to their Pop! Vinyl Wizard of Oz line in August.  And it's also the 75th anniversary of the film that has warmed the hearts of children and drive mad the minds of stoners.  If you've never read the books by Gregory Maguire that deal with the origin stories of the various characters you really should.  You'll have an entirely different outlook on the film afterwards.  And thus we have concluded The Toy Viking Book Club for June.

Kammu: Bronze Edition from Nathan Hamill

I will own you at Monopoly.  There's nothing you can do about it. I will have you so in debt to me by the end of the game that I will own your real life things too.  I'll take your car, your house, I'll even take your dog.  That's just how I roll.  When it comes to fake business transactions I'm like a steamroller through suburbia, leaving only hotels in my wake.

Imagine how intimidating it would be if you had a one of these guys to use as your game piece.  There's nothing about an old hobo's shoe that let's people know you're here to take all of their railroads and utilities, but this guy screams power.  Of course Nathan Hamill didn't design this bronze edition of Kammu for use in a board game, but who's to say you can't get maximum enjoyment out of your collectibles?  Produced by Pretty in Plastic and limited to only 30 pieces, this guy is available for preorder right now from http://nathanhamill.bigcartel.com/.

Amon Amarth's New Album Releases June 25th with Special Edition Loki Bust

I don't talk about music much on here because it rarely pertains to the world of toys.  So imagine my excitement when one of my favorite bands releases an album and a killer bust to go with it.

For those of you that don't know, Amon Amarth is the greatest viking metal band in the world.  They make intense music about Norse Mythology, which is another one of my many obsessions.  Listening to them will make you want to pick up a sword and rush headstrong into battle. Just remember to put your helmet on first.

Their new album comes out on the 25th and they are releasing this limited edition box set filled with cool stuff.  Sure you get the album, a bonus e.p., and a poster, but the highlight of this deal is the bust of Loki.  This master of mischief stands 10 inches tall and would look pretty fancy next to your mead horn.  You don't see Lil Wayne putting out anything like this.  For $99 you get everything you see above, which is really cheap considering the size and detail in that bust.  Order yours now from http://www.metalblade.com/amonamarth/order.php or risk never sitting with Odin in Valhalla.

Art Attack Toys Exclusive "Abyss" Resin from Dynamite Rex

Doesn't this look edible?  Like it's coated in layer of sugary goodness just waiting to rot your teeth.  If you were to bite into one of these "Abyss" edition resin figures from Dynamite Rex, cavities would be the least of your problems.  Not only are they hard enough to crack your Chiclets, they would probably taste bad.  So just put it on your shelf, dust it once in awhile, and marvel at how cool it looks.  Your dentist will thank you.

This sucker is an exclusive to Art Attack Toys and releases today at 10am Pacific time, which as I am writing this is just a few short minutes away.  Hey, I've been kinda busy.  Go immediately to http://shop.artattacktoys.com/ before it's too late.

Funguhs Custom Wave 3 from Dead Hand Toys

    Benefits of being a cyclops:

1.) You save tons of money on contact lenses.

2.) You're a shoe in to be cast in any movie involving Greek mythology.

3.) Your lack of depth perception means you never have a turn to drive in your carpooling group.

See, many of life's genetic defects have bright sides that you never thought about before.  Unless you're a Nickelback fan as that mutated gene is born of pure evil.  Sorry.

Dead Hand Toys is releasing this third wave of custom Funguhs today at 5pm Eastern time via http://deadhand.bigcartel.com/.  They're only $15 each, which makes them the most affordable hand made toy I can think of.

Creamy GID SDCC Exclusive from Gary Baseman x 3D Retro

See, now this is effective toy marketing.  I'm lactose intolerant and I suddenly find myself wanting some ice cream.  I know the price I'll pay almost instantaneously for it, but it sounds good right about now.

Gary Baseman and 3D Retro are the geniuses behind this photo.  To be honest, I'd love this little ice cream dude even if he was sitting by himself on some boring background.  His name is Creamy and this glow in the dark version is headed to San Diego Comic Con.  They made 200 of these guys and it will run you $55 to get one for yourself.  Mr. Baseman will be making an appearance at the 3D Retro booth some time during the convention to sign 'em for you and make chit chat.  No word yet whether he will be bringing the model with him or not.
