New 8 Inch Transformers from The Loyal Subjects

When I saw that The Loyal Subjects were doing a mini series of Transformers I was hoping they would make some bigger versions.  They had a few at San Diego Comic Con and now everyone will have there chance to snag one when these two are released next month.  First off, you have the classic Optimus Prime.  You can't go wrong with the original thing.  But what if you always wondered what old Optimus would look like painted up like a My Little Pony?  Well, that's kinda sick, so you should see someone, but if they deem you sane then your next step is to get the DIY figure.

Paint him up however you like, cover him in glitter, or rat skulls, or leave him blank.  The painted version of Optimus will be $55 while the DIY will be $40.  Both will be available at your favorite places to buy toys.

FUK Series 2 Trading Cards Preorder Happening Now

My grandfather has been pretty sick recently and it's made me think about the times we've spent together.  For some reason one thing that really sticks out in my mind is him driving me to every 7-11 in Newport News, Virginia hunting down packs of Garbage Pail Kids.  I was a weird little dude who liked nothing more than professional wrestling and horror movies, so these were right up my alley.  It took us 3 or 4 stops and countless miles before we found a place that wasn't sold out of them.  I barely got the packs to the car before ripping them all open and laughing hysterically at the weird images that each card contained.  It's a silly little moment that right now holds a lot of meaning for me.

Renone wants everyone to be able to relieve those childhood memories with his series of GPK inspired cards.  Many different toy artists are involved in this series, including Motorbot, Kris Dulfer, Cash Cannon, and Don Chulo.  Preorders are happening right now for this seconds series of cards and even uncut sheets of the entire set.

Custom Toys of the Week: Bjornik

If there is any justice in this world of toys, Bjornik will very soon have his own production Dunny.  He's never made anything that I wouldn't be thrilled to own and hopefully Kidrobot has something planned for this artist in the near future.  Until then, you can still own one of these amazing custom figures.  These go on sale Tuesday, August 13th, at 9pm PDT at www.bjornik.bigcartel.com.

The Black Five Alavaka from Devil's Head Productions x Lulubell Toy Bodega

This is now my new favorite colorway of this figure.  Devil's Head Productions and Lulubell Toy Bodega will be releasing these 5 exclusive Avalaka figures tomorrow August 10th, at 3:33pm Pacific time.  Two of em come with a nifty head band and a face covered in blood, or as I like to call it, my Friday dress code.  Seriously, it's how I look when I go to work.  People are all like "Hey, why do you have blood all over your face" and I'm all like "Don't worry, it's not mine".  They still worry though.

Freddy Krueger Video Game Edition from NECA

N.E.C.A. released what turned out to be one of the biggest hits of San Diego Comic Con in their Jason Voorhees figure modeled after the horrible NES game.  Well less we not forget that A Nightmare on Elm Street had a pretty terrible game of its own.  Now you can get Freddy inspired by how he looked in that slice of video game nostalgia.  And he will be packaged in a reproduction of the original game box.  This will be available at retail locations but will be extremely limited.

New South Park and Street Fighter Mini Figures from Kidrobot

You know what's great about these Southpark: The Stick of Truth figures from Kidrobot?  You can buy the one's you want.  That's right,  they're all sold in window boxes, which means no surprises.  It's no secret that I'm not the biggest fan of blind boxes and that is strictly from a financial stand point.  I still have a huge box full of doubles and each time I look at it I just think about something awesome I could have bought with that money.  Like electricity.

Ok, so these new Street Fighter figures ARE blind boxed, which of course I've just told you how much I hate.  And I stick by that.  The good thing is I know Kidrobot is without a doubt going to release something else that I'm gonna have to have, so that frees up some cash for me to get something I really want.  What's great about this series is the appeal it has to people who maybe wouldn't buy a vinyl toy before but will now fall in love with them, allowing this great sub culture of the toy world to keep growing.

The South Park figures will be available for $9.99 each on September 5th while Street Fighter series 2 will be released August 29th for the same price.
